The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is perhaps one of the most prestigious engineering institutes of India. For the major Bachelor of Technology programmes, VIT conducts an entrance examination known as Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE). To be eligible for the 2014 VITEEE the candidates should have sixty percent aggregate marks in biology/ mathematics, chemistry and physics in the +2 or Intermediate qualifying examinations. While the candidates belonging to any of the North-Eastern states (Assam, Sikkim etc.) and Jammu and Kashmir or the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes categories should secure at least fifty percent aggregate marks in order to be eligible for the examination.
The VITEEE 2014 test cities belong to the following states: Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Gujarat, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and so on.

Physics- Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Effects of Electric Current, Electromagnetic, Electromagnetic Waves and Wave Option, Atomic Physics etc.
Chemistry- Atomic Structure, Electrochemistry, Organic Nitrogen Compounds, Biomolecules, Carbonyl Compounds etc.
Mathematics- Complex Numbers, Vector Algebra, Differential Calculus, Differential Equations, Discrete Mathematics, Probability Distributions etc.
Biology- Taxonomy, Evolution, Reproduction, Genetics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology and its applications etc.
VITEEE Paper Pattern
The paper is divided into three parts and each part contains forty objective questions. Each question carries one mark. The part one of the paper is related to physics. The second part is related to chemistry and the third part has questions related to mathematics/biology.
The VITEEE 2014 is going to be held from 9th April to 20th April 2014.
The entrance exam duration is going to be two hours thirty minutes.
